Two people transported to the hospital after accident on U.S. 69 North

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - UPDATE: DPS said two people were taken to the hospital after a wreck on U.S. 69 North Sunday morning.

According to a press release, the preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 11:45 a.m., a 2010 Dodge passenger car exited from Jim Bell Loop in an attempt to travel north on US 69 and pulled into the path of a southbound 2015 Kia passenger car.

The driver of the Dodge is identified as 70-year-old Charles Lee, from Pollok, TX. Lee was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital in Lufkin for treatment.

The driver of the Kia is identified as 18-year-old Natalie Cervantes, from Alto, TX. Cervantes was transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center by medical helicopter for treatment.

This crash remains under investigation.

A crash has been reported in Angelina County.

According to Tx-DOT, the crash is located in the northbound lanes of U.S. 69, just north of SH-7 in Angelina County.

They said to reduce speed and prepare for possible delays as this scene clears.
