ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 69-year-old man Monday night in connection to allegations that he fired multiple gunshots after some juveniles rode a four-wheeler across his property.
Hiriam Paul Weisinger, of Lufkin, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a third-degree felony deadly conduct charge and a Class C misdemeanor no liability insurance charge. His bond amount has been set at $387 for the no insurance charge.
According to the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office media report, the 911 caller told the dispatcher that he and another juvenile were riding a four-wheeler through the woods near the 200 block of Briar Hill Road when a man with a gun ran toward them and yelled for them to stop.
The juveniles told deputies that after they got into a brief argument with the man, who was later identified as Weisinger, they started running toward their house. They said Weisinger fired about four rounds at them, the media report stated.
When the ACSO deputies located Weisinger in the woods, he allegedly told them that the juveniles were riding the four-wheeler on his property near his truck, and he shot at the ground.
Weisinger was arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail.
