Livingston woman dies four days after two-vehicle wreck on Highway 190

POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A 90-year-old woman who was seriously injured in a two-vehicle wreck that occurred in Polk County on Jan. 4 died as a result of her injuries Tuesday.

According to a press release, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred on U.S. Highway 190 about four miles west of Livingston on Jan. 4.

The preliminary crash report shows that at about 2 p.m. that day, Shirley Taylor, of Livingston, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet south on Walding Road when she failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign. Her vehicle went into the path of a 2014 Ford passenger car driven by Stacy White, 31, of Goodrich.

Taylor was airlifted to Conroe Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. White was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital in Livingston.

Taylor was pronounced dead at Conroe Regional Hospital on Tuesday.
