Lufkin business asks city board to allow for reimagined use of extra space

WEBXTRA: Lufkin business asks P&Z board to allow for reimagined use of space

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin business has taken its idea for reimagining the use of its space to the city’s planning and zoning board.

Frutilandia Meat Market on North Raguet St. currently offers butchery and other food service. However, the owners have expressed interest in turning a warehouse building on the property into a special events center, for celebrations such as baby showers and quinceaneras.

The owners have applied for a zoning change that would allow for ‘special use’ on the property.

The Planning and Zoning board will meet Monday, Jan. 14 to discuss the zoning change, as well as a number of other items listed on the city’s website.
