FRISCO, TX (KTRE) - With a year left on his current contract Jason Garrett said he is confident in the coaching staff.

After a 3-5 start to the season, it is no wonder that the Cowboys faithful started calling for it seemed like everyone from Jason Garrett all the way down to the lowest coach on the pay roll to be fired. Scott Linehan has been the Cowboys' playcaller since 2014 but he came under more scrutiny this season.

The flames seemed to cool off after the addition of Amari Cooper led the team to a NFC East Championship and a playoff win on Wild Card weekend.

Garrett told Dallas area media on Monday that everything is still being evaluated but he does see Linehan coming back next season. Garrett did concede that the decisions is ultimately in the hands of the man that pays the bills, one Jerry Jones.

The Cowboys staff will start planning vacations and taking some time off before training camp in late July but first they will be coaching the NFC team in the 2019 Pro Bowl. The AFC will be coached by the L.A. Chargers staff. This will be the third time in five season the Cowboys have coached the game.
