LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin’s City Council recently approved a $100,000 grant from the E.L. Kurth charitable foundation for the fire department to upgrade its equipment.

The grant money will go toward upgrading the fire department’s communication system. In addition, the grant money will be used to buy new breathing apparatuses to replace the fire department’s outdated equipment.
