According to their Facebook post, the washateria on Paul Avenue was burglarized on Christmas night. They reported the two suspects damaged the coin-operated machines. The two men also stole cameras and reportedly caused thousands of dollars in damages.
“Doing laundry might be a pain, but it’s not a crime,” said the Lufkin Crime Stoppers video. “What brought the men to the attention of investigators was their tampering with cameras.”
The Crime Stoppers video described the suspects as a white male and one black male. They arrived at the washateria at about 11:40 p.m. on Christmas night.
The video shows that after about 20 minutes, one of the men unscrewed one of the cameras from its mount. The suspects also unplugged the same camera and removed another.
