NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Water has significantly deteriorated the condition of a Nacogdoches County road, forcing it to be shutdown.
According to a Facebook post from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office, County Road 467 in the Nacalina Subdivision in Etoile is closed.
The post said no thru traffic signs have been posted on Cr. 467 in Etoile. Due to the road conditions of water crossing the roadway in three separate locations it has created an extreme hazard. Water is deteriorating the road which is causing more issues for residents. These issues could continue into possibly March.
The post said there have been several people who are traveling thru this area to site see. Cr. 467 is closed and anyone that does not live in this subdivision are requested not to use this roadway. Sheriff Deputies will increase patrols in this area, anyone caught using this roadway that do not live in the area will be stopped and possibly cited.
The sheriff’s office said they are taking these steps to help minimize the amount of traffic on the roadway that will help preserve the road and most importantly for the public’s safety. Nacogdoches County is monitoring the situation daily, anyone that lives in this subdivision that needs assistance is asked to contact the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office. Road and Bridge is doing everything possible to keep the road operational.
