Wedsnesday basketball wrap up: SFA teams sweep McNeese, Natasha Mack nears AC record

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - It was a big night for college basketball in Deep East Texas. Three of the four teams in the area picked up wins.

Starting with the SFA men, a double-double by senior Kevon Harris heped the 'Jacks get back on the winning path as they beat McNeese at home 67- 57. The SFA wmen played McNeee in Lake Charles. Not much of a contest there as the Ladyjacks roll to a 97-48 victory. The SFA women are on a 12 game winning streak and have 20 wins on the season. The two squads from SFA will be on the road Saturday for a doubleheader against Northwestern State.

At the NJCAA level, 14th ranked Tyler Junior College was able to get a big win in Tyler tonight over 9th ranked Angelina, 70-61. The teams split their two meetings this year with the home teams winning both times. Natasha Mack had 27 points for the Lady Roadrunners. She is now just 36 points from being the all time scoring champion at AC. The Angelina men hosted Blinn. AC gave up a comfortable lead late but was able to hold on to a 69-62 win. The win puts them in 4th place of the south zone of Region XIV and now they sit three games back from first place.
