Shelbyville wins 2A state championship for third time in school history

(KTRE) - For the third time in the school’s history, the Shelbyville Dragons can say they are state champions.

The dragons knocked off Gruver Saturday in the 2A state championship game 67-48 from the Alamo Dome in San Antonio.

Jay Buckly led the Dragons with 28 points. Shekbyville's largest lead was 24 points in the 3rd quarter.

This was the school's fourth state tournament appearance. The Dragons won state previously in 1982 and 1984.
