A First Alert Weather Day in effect for overnight Wednesday, early Thursday morning

Weather Where You Live

DEEP EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - We are tracking another storm system that is poised to bring the Piney Woods another round of strong-to-severe thunderstorms during the overnight hours on Wednesday and lasting through the mid-morning hours on Thursday.

Since there is a threat for severe weather, we have declared that time period from Wednesday night into Thursday morning a First Alert Weather Day.

The tornado threat is on the low end of the scale this time around, but the potential for some damaging winds and large hail will be possible as storms rumble through our part of the state along the cold front.

High pressure building in behind this frontal boundary will lead to some fantastic weather for the end of the week and will continue right through the Easter weekend as cool mornings give way to warm afternoons under sun-filled skies.
