NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - It is a grassroots effort of citizens all over this country to speak-up. "Citizens are concerned about the pork, excessive spending and excessive taxation," said Mary McCleary, Nacogdoches Tea Tax Party coordinator.

McCleary said the government's stimulus package makes people uneasy about America's future. "We're concerned about our children and the burden of this incredible debt," said McCleary.

She said the taxpayers will ultimately have to flip the bailout bill. Republican congressman Louie Gohmert said it is vital to attend the Tax Tea Party. "It's important that I keep fussing about things that needed correcting and Americans let their voices be heard across the country and it can change what happens in Washington," said Gohmert.

McCleary said she hopes Wednesday's bi-partison protest sends this message to congress. "Families all over the country are having to tighten their belt and watch what they're spending, and Washington needs to do the same," said McCleary.

Mccleary said Wednesday's protest is a chance to be a part of history. Wenesday's Tax Tea Party will be held at 5 p.m. in the Nacogdoches town square.
