SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A 41-year-old Texas man faces a negligent homicide charge in the crash that killed his wife.
Authorities say Billy Glenn Wright Sr., of Bloomburg, Texas, was being held in the Caddo Correctional Center following the crash on U.S. Highway 71 Friday afternoon. His 46-year-old wife, Tammy Wright, died in the crash.
The accident occurred after the truck in which they were riding apparently clipped a Caddo Parish school bus carrying 15 students and a driver, who were not injured.
Authorities say 28-year-old Deborah A. Purifoy, of Doddridge, Ark., and 18-year-old Steven Todd Cook, also of Bloomburg, were thrown from Wright's pickup.
Tammy Wright was pronounced dead at a hospital. Authorities say the injuries to Billy Wright, Purifoy and Cook were not life threatening.
