FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Prosecutors say a woman already accused in the hot-car death of her 17-month-old son while she was at work has been indicted on a felony murder charge.
Assistant district attorney Kimberly D'avignon says a Tarrant County grand jury Friday indicted 37-year-old Keashia Dyon Matthews, of Arlington, in the Sept. 3 death of Darrell Singleton III.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports before Friday's indictment, Matthews had already been charged with abandoning a child causing imminent danger, a second degree felony.
D'avignon says Matthews could face a term of up to life in prison if convicted on the murder charge.
Authorities say Matthews remains free on a $13,000 bond.
