NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE)- The Lufkin chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction is sponsoring its 28th annual Sepia Fashion and Talent show tonight at the Pitser Garrison Civic Center.
The Top Teens chapter will be performing on the runway, while paying a special tribute to Michael Jackson.
Children, ages six and under will also be taking the stage, showing off their talents. Organizers say it's a great opportunity for Lufkin's youth to be seen and heard in a positive light.
"To encourage our young people to be successful and productive citizens. It's an event where they are encouraged by adults and that's what this is, an encouraging piece, an uplifting piece," said Second Vice President of Top Ladies Guessippina Bonner.
The event begins at seven and the fashion show starts at eight. Tickets cost ten dollars for adults and seven for children. A majority of the money goes to youth scholarships while the rest gets put toward various community projects.
