LUFKIN, TX (KTRE)- A Lufkin hair salon hosted a "shaving party" to support 6-year-old Titus Grigg, who is battling cancer. Bliss Hair Studios was packed with supporters willing to undergo the ultimate transformation, and shave their heads in support of Titus.
In January, the Griggs found out their son had cancer.
"Every day is valuable, were not promised tomorrow, and so we're just taking every day as a special day," said father of Titus, Donnie Grigg.
Titus has already been through three weeks of intense radiation. The family knows he still has weeks of treatment left, but they're faith in God is unshakable.
"Even though he's walking this road, we're walking it together with Team Titus," said Donnie.
As Titus has begun losing his hair, his father wanted him to know he's not alone.
"Several people said they wanted to do the same thing, shave their head or go real short to support Titus."
Bliss Hair Studios offered to host a shaving party, in support of the family. "Team Titus" supporters came out to prove that bald really is beautiful.
"It's all for Titus. So I hope that everything will come out in the end strong for Titus," said Wesley Bernius.
"It's a big deal for our church family to support the Griggs and Titus and his battle," said Harmony Hill Baptist Church technology pastor Jimmy Williams.
"Titus needs support to get through this and he needs friends that can do this for him," said Collin Perkins.
It was a much needed day for Titus, who has spent most of his time at the Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Saturday, his friends were right by his side.
"Just being together and having fun," said Titus on what made today special.
It may take some getting used to but "Team Titus" is looking good.
If you'd like to buy a "Team Titus" t-shirt or wrist band to support the Grigg family or make a donation to benefiting Titus Grigg, you can contact First Bank and Trust in Lufkin or the Harmony Hill Baptist Church office.
