Veterans Day observances across East Texas

UNDATED (KTRE) - President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed an Armistice Day for November 12, 1919, following the end to the main hostilities of World War I, which were finished at the 11th hour of 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with Germany signing of the Armistice.

Congress replaced "Armistice" with Veterans on November 8, 1954 and it has been recognized as Veterans Day since.
