USPS Investigates Lufkin Mail Theft

by Ramonica R. Jones

The United States Postal Service is investigating a Lufkin case of stolen mail.

Angelina County sheriff's deputies found about 90 pieces of mail in an abandoned car Sunday night. They linked the car to two people they had helped earlier that night.

Postal inspectors plan to file federal charges against the suspects. They'll also begin sending letters to the victims, along with a photocopy of the mail that was stolen. That should take about a week.

If you believe mail was stolen from you, call the Fort Worth division of the U.S. Postal Inspectors Service at 1-817-359-2700 or go to www.usps.com/postalinspectors
