Louise Doris Emrie

Services for Louise Doris Emrie, 78, of Pollok, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006, in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Walter Futch officiating. Interment will follow in the Pollok Cemetery.

Mrs. Emrie was born June 24, 1927, in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Elsie (Fyffe) and Earl Chester James. She passed away Sunday, April 9, 2006, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Emrie was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, as well as a homemaker. Her greatest passion was her love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She supported them in their sports, and was their biggest fan and "cheerleader". She loved to read and collect butterflies, and was an adamant NASCAR fan.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carroll and John Ponson of Pollok; grandchildren, Brian Ponson and wife Darla, Michael Ponson and wife Brandy, all of Pollok, Lisa Grove, Tina Emrie, and Jimmy Emrie, all of Las Animas, CO; great grandchildren, Blake Ponson, Chase Ponson, and Lane Ponson, all of Pollok, Zachary and Alex Grove, Samantha and Jason Emrie, and James Darrell Emrie, III and Ila Emrie, all of Las Animas, CO; step-great grandchildren, Josh and Ashley Pike of Pollok; daughter-in-law, Kathie Emrie Pointon of Las Animas, CO; dear friend, Laura Wade of Pollok; and best buddy and closest friend, "Gumball".

Mrs. Emrie was preceded in death by her son, James Darrell Emrie.

Pallbearers will be Josh Pike, Wesley Poling, R. L. Lehman, Orin LeBlanc, Chuck Taylor, and John Ponson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home.
