Lane Luckie joined KTRE-TV in December 2008 as an evening anchor and executive producer.
A graduate of Northwestern State University, Lane earned a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Political Science.
Growing up in nearby Louisiana, Lane knows the people of East Texas are what make it so unique. Everyone has a story and he promises to do his best to tell it fairly. Lane is a huge history buff and sees journalism as an ideal opportunity to write the "first draft" of history as it happens. He hopes his passion for learning encourages others to take an interest in knowing their community.
During college, he completed internships at WFAA-TV in Dallas, Texas and KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Lane comes to East Texas from KTAL-TV in Shreveport, where he was the nightside reporter.
Lane has been recognized for his work by several journalism organizations including the Broadcast Education Association and the Southeast Journalism Conference.
In his spare time he enjoys traveling and documentary photography. He is an alumnus of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and serves on the Board of Directors of the Beta Omicron Alumni Association. Lane travels to college campuses facilitating the risk management programs "The Ladder of Risk" and "Alcohol Skills Training Program." These presentations help college students make smarter and safer decisions as undergraduates. He also volunteers at Brandon Elementary with the H.O.S.T.S. (Helping One Student to Succeed) mentoring program.
When outdoors, Lane enjoying being on a lake or river, boating and kneeboarding. When he's not chasing his next story, you'll find Lane jogging or "attempting" to play tennis. Lane's favorite part about southern culture is good company and stories over a great meal.
By the way, "Lane Luckie" is his real name.
