Holley Nees joined the East Texas News Team in January 2009 as a video journalist.
Holley graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism.
In college, she anchored and filmed the live show for KVR News at Texas Student Television. Her news career continued as an intern at KEYE-TV, the CBS station in Austin. She went on to produce, report and anchor for UT's Texas Newswatch, a local Austin Newscast. Aside from being a member of Texas Exes, Holley is also a lifetime member of the National Forensic League.
As much as Holley loves Austin's city limits, East Texas has never been far from her heart. She grew up in Lindale, Texas, just north of Tyler. She is truly proud of East Texas and thrilled to call it home once again.
Holley loves journalism because it provides others with the opportunity to have their life stories heard in a way that can not only inform a community, but also change our world.
When she's not in the newsroom or chasing a story, she enjoys visiting family and friends, water skiing, snow skiing, watching Longhorn football and playing the piano.
Holley is committed to telling the stories east Texans need to hear. If you have a story idea email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
