Lane Luckie first joined KLTV & KTRE in 2008. He anchors Good Morning East Texas each weekday and produces the station's long-running 'Power of Prayer' series. Lane previously served as evening anchor and executive producer at KTRE-TV in Lufkin and Nacogdoches. He came to East Texas from KTAL-TV in Shreveport, where he was a general assignments reporter. Lane also spent four years in marketing at the Natchitoches, Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau. A Louisiana native, Lane earned a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern State University. He hopes his passion for lifelong learning encourages others to take an interest in knowing their community. Lane is a two-time recipient of a Regional Emmy from the Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. His work has also been recognized by the Broadcast Education Association and the Southeast Journalism Conference. In 2017, he was named a RIAS Berlin Commission fellow, participating in a trans-Atlantic exchange program for American and German broadcasters. The following year, he explored trade tensions between the world's largest economies, the U.S. and China, as a fellow of the East-West Center. He currently serves as president of the NSU Alumni Association and was honored as NSU's ‘Distinguished Young Alumnus of the Year’ in 2017. Lane also volunteers on the advisory committee for the NSU Department of New Media, Journalism, and Communication Arts and serves on the board of directors of the Beta Omicron Alumni Chapter and Housing Corporation. Having presented educational programming at dozens of college campuses across the country, Lane has been named Pi Kappa Phi's national 'Volunteer of the Year,' 'Facilitator of the Year,' and was named to the fraternity's 'Thirty Under 30' list. He has also served on the faculty for numerous leadership conferences and also mentored student leaders as Chapter Advisor for Pi Kappa Phi at the University of Texas at Tyler and at Stephen F. Austin State University. He is active in his church and volunteers with several community organizations. An avid photographer, one of Lane's passions is traveling to new destinations, capturing interesting shots of people and places along the way. He also loves spending time on the golf course.
