Dish Satellite Negotiations - KTRE.com | Lufkin and Nacogdoches, Texas

A message for Dish Satellite subscribers:

At KTRE, nothing is more important to us than providing East Texas with the very best in local news and weather, along with your favorite ABC programming.

In order to serve our viewers, KTRE has in place agreements with the cable and satellite companies that bring our station to your home. In fact, KTRE has such agreements in place with every TV provider in our area.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to reach an Agreement with Dish Satellite.

For many months we have been working to resolve this matter, but so far have been unable to reach an Agreement with Dish Satellite for the continued carriage of KTRE. This is particularly disappointing because all the other TV providers in our area have Agreements with us and those Agreements are fundamentally similar to the one we have been negotiating with Dish Satellite.

As a result, at midnight on July 31st Dish Satellite customers could lose access to KTRE.

We understand how frustrating this is for you. We share your frustration. After all, you pay Dish Satellite 100% of your bill each month. Why shouldn’t you get 100% of your channels? You can reach your local Dish Satellite Service Rep at 1-888-631-1536 to voice your concern.

KTRE is committed to resolving this matter. But in the meantime, you should know that you have choices. Our station will remain available on other providers and we are always available free over-the-air.

Thank you for your viewership and support.

FAQ:

Q: Why will KTRE no longer be available on Dish Satellite.

A: In order for KTRE to be carried to your home by TV providers like Dish Satellite, we need to reach agreements that set the terms for them to carry our signal. KTRE has such agreements in place with all the TV providers in the market. However, we have been unable to reach an Agreement with Dish Satellite.

Q: What can I do if I have lost access to KTRE on Dish Satellite?

A: The good news is that you have choices. First, you can tell Dish Satellite to put KTRE back on the dial. If enough customers speak up, Dish Satellite may listen. You can reach your local Dish Service Rep at 1-888-631-1536. Second, you can consider a different TV provider such as your area cable providers who all carry KTRE. Finally, you can always get KTRE for free over the air.

Tar-covered tires stick to parking lot of Lufkin tire shop

More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
