A cool rain will continue to fall across the Piney Woods for the rest of the afternoon and continue through the evening hours. The rain will not be all that heavy, but due to the duration, many areas will end up getting close to an inch before it's all said and done. On Saturday, the rain moves out, but the clouds will hang with us for most of the day. Our skies will finally clear back out Saturday night, which means your Sunday will be filled with lots of blue sky. Even though the sun returns for the second half of your weekend, it will still be rather chilly, as lows dip down to near freezing and highs only make the upper 40's and lower 50's.
Friday night will be mostly cloudy with a 60% chance of light rain showers. On the cool side, with lows in the lower 40's. Winds will be light and out of the west at around 5 mph.
Saturday will be cloudy and cool. Highs in the lower to middle 50's. Winds will pick up out of the northwest at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon, putting the wind chill values in the 40's.
After this batch of rain moves out overnight, we will have a fairly lengthy stretch of dry and sunny weather for East Texas. Since no major cold fronts are coming in early next week, we will undergo a nice warming trend as highs get back into the 60's. It's possible some areas could get close to 70 by next Thursday and Friday.
