EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - Area motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully as patchy fog is covering much of the KTRE viewing area.

East Texas News Meteorologist Grant Dade says the fog should begin clearing out about 9 or 10 this morning.  Low lying areas are especially hazardous and extra caution must be exercised when driving since it will be difficult to see the vehicle in front of you.

East Texas News has learned foggy conditions at A.L. Mangham, Jr. Regional Airport in Nacogdoches.  Detectives on their way to Eagle Pass to take into custody murder suspect Kyle Barnhill are on standby until the fog lifts.  Barnhill is charged in the death of his wife, Melissa, shot by someone outside her kitchen window last Wednesday.

Reports indicate in some areas visibilities are around one-quarter of a mile or less.  Other areas have fog, but with visibilities at or above one mile.  The fog will continue through about 9 a.m. or 10 a.m., after which is should dissipate rapidly.

Your East Texas Weather forecast calls for sunny and warm today with a high near 80.  Winds light and out of the east at 5 mph.
