Tyler, TX (KLTV) Halftime sports entertainment just wouldn't be the same without the precision dance drills of groups like the Tyler Apache Belles, Kilgore Rangerettes, The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and the high school, college, and professional groups that have followed in their footsteps. Gussie Nell Davis founded the first halftime precision dance drill team at Kilgore College.
Ruth Flynn went from being a twirler at Arp High School to the Rangerettes in 1967. She says it "changed" her life and led her into her position as director of the Tyler Junior College Apache Belles. This is Flynn's twenty- fifth year as director of the Belles and it's also the year she was inducted into the "Texas Dance Education Association Hall Of Fame", to join Davis and others who have inspired her along the way.
The Apache Belles Spring Show is scheduled for April 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at 7:30 p.m. with matinees on the 2nd and 4th at 2:p.m.
