Two injured in three-vehicle wreck in Lufkin

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Rescue officials used Jaws of Life to get a Nacogdoches man out of his wrecked car after being rear-ended by an 18-wheeler Wednesday afternoon on the west side of Loop 287 in Lufkin.

Traffic was backed up about a mile on traffic traveling westbound on the loop near Ray's West as officials worked the scene.

According to Lufkin Police Officer Stacy Seymore, a man, later identified as Kenneth Smith, of Nacogdoches, and a woman, later identified as Jo Ann Fecteau, of Huntington, who was in a car in front of the Honda, were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The Honda rear-ended the Fecteau's car after being rear-ended by the 18-wheeler.

Seymore said both patients were being checked for injuries but appeared to be OK.
