Woman injured in two vehicle crash on south First Street

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - No driver's license and failure to yield the right of way are the citations against Daniel Hernandez after an accident, police say happened when Hernandez tried to beat oncoming traffic.

Officer Devin Trotti with the Lufkin Police Department tells KTRE that Hernandez was driving south on First Street.  He said Hernandez was making a turn into Taco Casa when his Ford Explorer collided with an oncoming Jeep driven by Dorothy Jordan of Livingston.

Jordan was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital.  She is listed in stable condition and is expected to be treated and released from the emergency room this afternoon.  The accident happened shortly before noon Tuesday.
