Would be hit-and-run driver injured in accident

ANGELINA COUNTY (KTRE) - An alleged speeding motorist hits another car twice and then tries to leave the scene when a chase ensues with his alleged victim in pursuit.

Department of Public Safety trooper, Tamela Snider tells KTRE, the reported would be hit and run driver, Matthew Hunt of Huntington, was traveling too fast around a curve when his car left the road and landed among some trees some 30 feet away.  Snider says Hunt apparently failed to control his speed and hit Cullen Brewster's vehicle, twice.  Brewster was following Hunt's vehicle when it apparently missed the curve and left the road.

Hunt was taken to Memorial Hospital in stable condition, but unresponsive.  The accident occurred on Winston 8 Ranch Road around 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.  DPS is investigating.
