LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The East Texas News aired a story about a Lufkin woman living with black mold and a gaping hole in her house caused by a tree that Hurricane Ike left behind.

A few days after the story aired, KTRE received a call from FEMA.  They said they had seen her story on and they wanted to make sure the owner was taken care of.  The East Texas News went and broke the news to her Wednesday.

Myrtle Jean Hadnot was overwhelmed.  She said,  "Exuberating, just gives me hope.  All I want is just hope because I don't know what to do."

Hadnot now has the help of the community too.  A viewer called in wanting to help Hadnot and they said they plan to come out and help her soon.
