The City of Lufkin addresses drainage issues

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - With all the rain on Easter weekend, you may have had some drainage issues near your home.

They did not this time, but the City of Lufkin said before most major storms, they usually go out and assess problem areas.

"We've had a couple of calls, we had one drain that was stopped up, one driveway covered and that was after hours and we dispatched people out to unstop them," said Assistant City Manager Keith Wright.

Wright said if you do need help you can call the City Street Department during work hours.   He said people do need to remember that the city does not fix problems on private property.
