Nacogdoches Police report problems with solicitors

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches residents have reported problems with solicitors without permits going door-to-door, according to a spokesman with the police department.

Sgt. Greg Sowell sent a press release Wednesday reminding citizens that a permit is necessary to solicit for charitable donations or to sell items door-to-door.

The permit must be registered with the city and can be picked up at the police department during normal business hours.

Nacogdoches citizens are encouraged to report illegal solicitors by calling the police department. Violators will be fined by the municipal court.
