WASHINGTON D.C. (KLTV) - Americans' honeymoon with their new president appears to be continuing.  A new poll suggests that most Americans consider Barack Obama to be a strong, ethical and empathetic leader who is working to change Washington.

The Associated Press poll shows a 64 percent approval rating.  It also shows that for the first time in years, more Americans than not say the country is headed in the right direction.  That's 48 percent, versus 44 percent who say the nation is on the wrong track.  The poll comes as Obama nears his 100th day in office.  The survey also finds that, while Americans polled are intensely worried about their personal finances and medical expenses, they seem realistic about the time Obama might need to turn things around.

We want to know what you think about the new poll.  Leave your comments below.
