2,600 area residents without power

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Local and out-of-town crews have worked throughout the night to restore power to homes as the number without electricity is down to about 2,610 homes combined between Angelina and Nacogdoches counties, according to an Oncor spokesman.

According to David Collier, the crews, who have come as far away as Houston, are making progress and they ask customers without power to be patient and be assured they are working as fast as they can to get all power restored.

Collier said the crews may have to work through Monday night to restore power to all homes.
