LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A three-vehicle wreck on one of Angelina County's busiest streets stalled traffic for about 40 minutes.

According to Lufkin Police officer Trent Sobolewski, a woman driving a white Mitsubishi Montero failed to stop behind a white Ford Explorer and rear-ended it in the northbound lane of U.S. 59 south, in front of Texas Bible College. The rear-ending sent the Explorer into the back of a J.B. Hunt 18-wheeler.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, whose name was not immediately known to police, was transported to Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Traffic was backed up for about 40 minutes as it was diverted to one lane.

The driver of the Ford, Jimmy Gorden of Hudson, and his passenger and John Moffett of Tennessee, the driver of the 18-wheeler were not injured in the wreck.

Sobolewski said the driver of the Mitsubishi would be cited for failure to control speed while Gorden would be cited for non-moving violations.
