City opens parks to all activities

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The City of Lufkin has opted to open parks to all normal activities, according to an e-mail from a city official.

In the e-mail, Deputy City Manager Keith Wright stated based on information from health officials it was safe to open the parks.

Wright advised everyone to "be conscientious and continue frequent hand washing,  stay at home if you are sick, cover your cough/sneeze, and use alcohol based hand sanitizers."

The results for 30 samples sent to Tyler for testing had not yet been known, Wright said.
