DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) - Genaro DeJesus said his dad built his childhood home from ground up. Thirty years of hard work pummeled to the ground by Sunday's storms. "In seven to eight seconds it all took place," said Genaro DeJesus, parents' home damaged.

He was on the phone with his brother when the storm hit. "He [my brother] said the house was shaking like it was coming off the blocks," said DeJesus.

When the storm calmed, his family found a mangled roof scattered across the lawn, the satellite dish stuck in a tree and their carport collapsed. "The roof was there and now it's there," said DeJesus.

Now the fallen carport is being used as a dog house. The damage doesn't stop there. "My mom gets a headache just by going inside," said DeJesus.

"This is where the ceiling fell, and it sucked a piece of the roof off," said DeJesus. It is the rood he once lived under. "I grew up in the house, you know, it makes me sad."

Now he is ready to help his parents pick up the pieces of his childhood home. "There's nothing that can't be fixed or replaced," said DeJesus.

As of Tuesday, the DeJesus' are still without power and are waiting on insurance adjusters. The Angelina County Red Cross is offering assistance to those in need of storm damage relief. The Angelina County Red Cross can be reached at 936-634-6013.
