Local soccer booster club wants new facilities at soccer field

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Lufkin High School Soccer Booster Club wants to finance a restroom, concession stand, and a locker room so fans and players won't have to cross the street to change.

The club went before the finance committee Tuesday, but LISD Superintendent Roy Knight said they will have to wait until Thursday's school board meeting for a final answer. He said they cannnot do any fundraising until they get approval.

The Lufkin School Board is scheduled to meet this Thursday at 6 p.m. to consider the soccer proposal. The meeting is at the administration building at 101 Cotton Square.
