"Fantastic Four" invited to NASA summer program

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Four Lufkin High School students are invited to an excluvise summer workshop with NASA. The students called the "Fantastic Four" will join 350 other high school juniors across Texas in the one week program at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.

The students were chosen on a number of lessons having to do with engineering, math and creativity. The summer workshop will give students the opportunity to design for NASA, learn what NASA engineers do on a daily basis and assist them in finding way to imrpove missions in the near future. The students said it is a highly competitive program.

"I was happy, very happy," said Jeffin James, attending NASA summer program. "It was just one of those precious moments, one of those exciting moments, probably the best moment you'll feel knowing yes, I made it!" said James. James is a junior at Lufkin High School.

James said he is looking forward to this summer. He plans to major in engineering when he goes to college and thinks this program will help him reach that goal.
