LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Patriot Guard riders took their motorcycles for a quick spin in the "Ride of Honor". About 55 riders revved up their engine Sunday afternoon. The national organization rides their motorcycles to every funeral of every soldier, sailor, airman, and Marine who dies in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sunday they rode their motorcycles to celberate life, liberty and fallen soldiers.

"We're all American and we are very proud to be Americans and we want to keep the flag flying high," said LaRetta Britton, spokesperson for Patriot Guard Riders.

Britton said she partipates in the "Ride of Honor" to help preserve the memory and honor of the nation's fallen heroes. Memorial Day observations will continue through Monday evening at Lufkin's VFW.
