Grand jury indicts Lufkin man in death of father-in-law

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Among last week's Angelina County grand jury indictments was one for Deandre Doyle Thomas, who is accused in the death of his father-in-law.

Thomas allegedly stabbed his father-in-law, Larry Landers, to death on March 15, 2008, at the Cabbage Patch Club in Lufkin.

According to previous KTRE reports, Thomas claims self-defense in the death.

Also indicted last week was Elroy Edwards Sr. for indecency with a child by contact. According to previous KTRE reports, Edwards was known as "Candy Man" for selling candy and soda from his home in the Cedar Grove Community.
