Alto softball wants the bling

ALTO, TX (KTRE) - In Alto, the bling is the thing.  The boys have their fair share winning two state football titles the last three years.  So what about the girls?

"Girls are never recognized for anything," said Alto Senior Amber Morrison.  "It's always about football."

It's not that their jealous, the Ladyjackets just want the gleam of the championship ring.

"It's our senior year so we want to get to the point where we can have our ring and flash it too," said Alto Senior Erika Blakemore.

They may just get it.  Alto is back in the regional finals, one win away from returning to state.

"I think it's very important because football has made two state championships, and the girls have made none since 1999," said Alto Senior Lacey Huddleston.  "I think we just need to go out and play our best and strive for this because we all want it really bad."

Alto is confident they can get there.

"We're good," said Blakemore.  "We're really good. We work together and come together as a family and work as one. We got it."
