DPS charges Corrigan man in fatal wreck

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Department of Public Safety has charged a man with two counts of intoxicated manslaughter and two counts of intoxicated assault following a Friday night car wreck which killed two adults and severely injured two children.

According to DPS reports, Vicente Gonzalez, 30, of Corrigan, was driving southbound in the northbound lane on U.S. 59, two miles north of Diboll, when he ran head-on into a northbound vehicle.

Crystal Thomas, 29, of Lufkin, and Willie Lacy, 48, of Alto died in the wreck.

Two children in the wreck, Jovair Thomas and Christopher Gross, were severely injured and remain in critical condition in Houston and Dallas hospitals.

Gonzalez is in critical condition in a Houston hospital.
