Local GM dealers receive bankruptcy letters

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - At least three local automotive dealerships have received letters from GM today.

Representatives from Clifton Chevrolet in Corrigan and Gound Chevrolet and Rex Perry Autoplex in Nacogdoches say the letters state GM wants to keep the dealerships under contract.

According to an article on autonews.com, the letter requires all surviving dealers to sign a "participation agreement" asking them to comply with any dealership upgrades that the company imposes in bankruptcy.

Tonight on KTRE East Texas News 9 at 6, Holley Nees interviews owners of the local dealerships for their full reactions to the letters.
