LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Two separate wrecks in Angelina and San Augustine Counties leave three dead.
Matthew Steven Meador, 31, of Chireno and 23-year-old Summer Jane Crawford of Lufkin were traveling down FM 705 when their vehicle left the road, struck a tree, and overturned. Both were pronounced dead at the scene Saturday at 2:18 a.m. by San Augustine County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Judge J. D. Miller. Center DPS Trooper Joel Barton investigated the wreck.
Later Saturday morning, 17-year-old Robert Denum of Alto was traveling westbound on State Highway 7 in Angelina County when his vehicle struck a private drive, overturned, and struck a tree. Denum was ejected from his vehicle, then his vehicle struck him. Denum was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:15 a.m. by Angelina County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Judge Billy Ball. DPS Trooper Clint Henderson investigated the wreck.
