Alto loses heartbreaker to Forsan

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Shortstop Ambra Hill scored one of two first-inning Forsan runs and turned two double plays as Forsan beat Alto, 2-1, to win the Class 1A softball title.  Hill led off the first for Forsan (26-9) with a double.

D'Amberley Averette was hit by a pitch.  After a double steal, they scored on RBI grounders by Shelby Jones and Kelsey Jones.  Lauren Watson scored the only run for Alto (29-8) in the sixth when she was hit by a pitch, advanced on a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly, then scored while Forsan argued that Watson left second prematurely.

Amanda Longorio scattered six hits and three strikeouts, going the distance for her 13th win. Heaven Liles took the loss despite allowing just two hits, striking out two and hitting one.
