LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - While Chrysler and GM face financial hardships, some car companies are actually expanding.

"Kia recently opened a brand new manufacturing facility in Georgia that's going to supply thousands of American jobs," said Todd Barrett, owner of Barrett Brothers Kia in Lufkin. "They're going to buy parts from American suppliers."

Barrett said he attributes Kia Motors' growth to the company's competitive car and SUV prices. He thinks Kia Motors expansion will help boost the U.S. economy.
