LUFKIN, TX (KTRE)- When Brianna Shaw heard that Etech, Inc. was hiring it was opportunity knocking at her door.
"More opportunities, I want to advance my opportunities, I want something more to do, something I can do better," says Shaw.
Etech, Inc. is opposite of most companies these days. Instead of downsizing, they're expanding their East Texas locations. A recent announcement of a new contract with a major university will provide about 200 jobs.
Tarah Peace, Leader of Recruiting and Community Involvement for Etech, Inc. says, "Etech is looking to hire a host of individuals in the East Texas area where they can represent major department stores as a customer service representative. We are also looking for student enrollment specialists representing a major university as well as online chat representatives.
The company says that during the nation's economic downturn they're excited about this new expansion project that will help some East Texas families.
Peace adds, "There are individuals from other jobs that are currently looking for a place of employment cause they don't know where that next meal may come from and I'm proud to say Etech is her and is able to provide that.
They are also giving hope to future employees. " I want to work here, I want to see what they have to offer me, I want to see what I can do," says Shaw eagerly waiting to be called for her interview.
Etech hopes to have all of those 200 job positions filled by the end of July. Part-time and full-time positions are available.
