Hutchison announces county chairmen for East Texas

Austin-Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison announced Mayor Tim Vaughn as one of the County Chairmen for the East Texas region. These chairmen will help target the campaign to their specific communities.

"Kay Bailey Hutchison is a remarkable public servant," Vaughn said. "Her dedication and leadership will steer Texas in the right direction for the future. I am proud to support her candidacy for Governor."

As the Gregg County Chairmen, Tim Vaughn will be responsible for building their county steering committees and the recruitment of city chairs. He will also help craft the county campaign plan and mobilize local coalitions. Vaughn is the former Mayor of White Oak, Texas in Gregg County.

Kay Bailey Hutchison has formed an Exploratory Committee for her bid for Governor. In coming months Hutchison will be traveling the state, talking with voters about how we prepare Texas for the future.

"I'm honored to have these enthusiastic community and Republican leaders on my team," Hutchison said. "They believe, like I do, the importance of using conservative principles to solidify the future of our party and state. Over the next few months and weeks, I'll be laying out my vision for the state and I'm proud to stand with my friends as we campaign to be the next Governor of Texas."

U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison is the first female United States Senator in Texas history. Hutchison also served as Texas State Treasurer and the first Republican woman elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 1972.
