Lufkin man found dead with Freon in bag over head

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police have released the name of a Lufkin man found dead Monday morning in Gene's Front End Repair Service.

According to police, John David Lawson, 40, was found with a plastic garbage bag over his head that contained a can of Freon.

An autopsy has been done but the exact cause of death has not been determined, Lt. David Young said.

"We can't say it was a suicide and we can't say it was accidental either," Young said. "We may never know."

Shop owner Gene Albritton said Monday he found Lawson's body in a back office. Lawson was an employee at the shop.
